Managing your energy is often times a difficult task to do. Workdays are always so demanding, and we’d often found ourselves not having the energy to do anything even when there are stuffs to do. This is definitely a problem, but it’s not one that can’t be solved with this guide on how to manage productivity.

Focus on your energy, not time.

Though time is also a limited resource that plays a big part in how to manage productivity, what you really should be paying attention to is your energy, not time or tasks. People have different energy reserves for different hours of the day.

For example, an employee might find themselves to be the most productive during the morning, and so they use that fact to work on the most demanding tasks they have for that day in that time slot.

Doing this will help you get things done better and faster and it won’t take much of a toll on your body as the tasks after that will be one that’s easier than it and you’ll still be able to do it even if your energy reserve is low.

Keep your phone away from you.

Another step on how to manage productivity that we found very useful is to not leave your phone around you. Smartphones are a thing of distraction. Everything there is made to distract you.

So, when you start working on something, make sure to leave your phone out of your sight. Just turning it off won’t quite work as you’ll start feeling anxious about the bunch of notifications that you might’ve missed as the thing is still in your line of sight.

Thus, take the thing out of the room entirely and you’ll find yourself managing your productivity much improved as you won’t be wasting your energy worrying about what important things you might’ve missed.
